The Bay 2010 Christmas Window Wonderland

December 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Sorry for not posting for long. I’ve been busy with work and my YouTube channel, uploading videos and making money off of them.

I thought that I will post a video montage of footage shot in 2010 of the Bay’s Window Wonderland. I had tried uploading twice before, but:

  1. I had copyrighted audio, so no money for me
  2. After using music composition software to create my own rendition of “Ding Dong Merrily on High” and putting the music into the video, I realized that the music was cut off at the end.

So, without further ado, here is the Bay’s 2010 Christmas Window Wonderland!

Go!Animate – Bob and his wife

This is my new cartoon.

Bob’s wife asks him to ask his boss for a raise. He says that she would fire him if he did, so she tells him why they need the money. The rest is history.

YouTube – Twin Babies’ Secret Language?

April 2, 2011 1 comment

YouTube – Twin Babies’ Secret Language?

This is one of my favourites! It’s twin talk at its finest.

Whatever they’re talking about, according to ABC News, it’s important enough to raise a foot! These twins have taken the nation by storm, so I certainly want to know what they’re talking about, that’s for sure!

Babies are always very cute, but clips like this just make them AMAZING! What do you think about it? I certainly believe that twins have a secret language, and this could be proof, but what do you think?

My new YouTube video: Bob and his Boss Part 1 – Bob asks for a raise

March 24, 2011 Leave a comment

Come check out this video that I made using GoAnimate!

It’s a new take on an old joke: The employee asks for a raise, but the boss thinks he’s worth much less than his current salary!

Check it out here, if you cannot access the video on this blog.

My art on Art.com

If you haven’t noticed, some of my art is available on Art.com. You may view them here:
http://www.art.com/gallery/id–a19123/cynthia-chan-posters.htm

The first one is a set of four stamps, featuring Canadian women in the performing arts. The second is a cover for a fictional magazine for shift workers called NiteLife. Both were projects made at the International Academy of Design and Technology.

I hope you enjoy them! I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into these projects. They’re not cheap!

Horrific US Medical Experiments Come to Light

Take a gander at this, folks:

Horrific US Medical Experiments Come to Light.

It reminds me of that Ontario Science Center Truth exhibit that I always visit when I go there.  I remember hearing about Nazi eugenics and how people used to think that others were “feebleminded” (i.e. not like so-called “normal” people). And then, I remember hearing about the horrid medical experiments that so-called “doctors” performed on others, and the sterilization of people with mental disabilities in order to “purify” the human race. It’s so tragic that people used to participate in these monstrous activities. I’m guessing that they still do, in some places.

If they do, they should stop and think about it from their patient’s perspective. What if they were the ones who needed help and were tortured instead? How would they feel? Awful, I bet, and guilty, considering that they used to be the perpetrators.

I’m ashamed that my own country, Canada, participated, and even encouraged these practices. We all ought to be ashamed. But since we’re still alive, we can still change what needs to be changed and do what needs to be done to protect human rights everywhere. It starts with just one act of kindness to another human being, whether you are offering your seat on the bus, or saying “Thank you”. Then, I suggest checking up on Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch and see what they’re up to and what you can do to help out.

Please. The past is trouble enough.

Playmobil Traveler’s Insurance ad and “Morning Driving”

February 26, 2011 2 comments

Have you ever seen this ad?

It featured a Playmobil family living in a dollhouse. The little girl rearranged the house, throwing the family into turmoil; even literally, when the father fell out of the house. Then it tells us that this is an ad for Travelers Insurance.

When I first watched it, I was disturbed, because I thought that the father Playmobil figure “died” when he fell out of the house. However, in the end, he was OK.

I now think this ad to be hilarious, in part because the background music reminds me of the “Morning Driving” radio song that advertised the Jesse and Gene show. You can hear it here.

Come to think of it, I miss hearing Jesse and Gene so much that I forgot what they sounded like. Fortunately, while searching for “Jesse and Gene” for this post, I found their website: http://www.jesseandgene.com

It brings back memories, and I have Traveler’s Insurance to thank for that! I’m already dreaming up ways to incorporate that music into another ad, this time, with boy’s toys. I wonder if Traveler’s offers veteran’s insurance; then they could use G.I. Joes in their ads. And what about using Hot Wheels for auto insurance? Hmm….

Edit: It appears that the video was removed by YouTube, due to copyright infringement. Don’t worry; it wasn’t one of MY videos!

Doctors accused of drugging and sexually assaulting woman – thestar.com

February 19, 2011 Leave a comment

I came across a disturbing article about two bad doctors here:

Doctors accused of drugging and sexually assaulting woman – thestar.com.

Seriously, they’re DOCTORS, so they should know better than to act like monsters. I have to know why they would do such a thing, especially when things like this go public and get them in a lot of hot water.

I hope that the College of Physicians and Surgeons throws the book at doctors like them. They should not let the few bad apples out there spoil the crop. I know that there are a lot of good doctors out there, and what these two did should not shake, let alone shatter, our good faith in medicine. After all, without the works of good doctors and nurses, we’d probably be dead by now.
